Well that was April
Well April has flown by. It was great to catch up with Mal and Morag, feels like absolutely ages since I saw them last. The weather was kind to us and we had a very pleasant walk around Hollow Mountain. Mal and Morag also got to admire the views from Mt William, Boroka and Reed Lookout, but the wind was a bit chilly! Mal and Morag taught us a new card game called "May I?" or Erin’s variant "Give it to me!" :-) I took Matt to Stawell hospital for another x-ray and he now has the boot off.
Thwaites came up and reopened the MacKenzie Falls tourist area on the Tuesday before Easter. That afternoon we went to a fire in Laharum - a farmer’s burn off that had got a bit out of order. Easter was quieter and wetter than expected. I went out working with Stewie on Good Friday but we had an altercation with a wallaby and the wallaby won – the facilities truck came off far worse. We had to return to the depot and move all the gear into a ute and trailer. Tricky keeping those loo rolls dry in all that rain!

Matt and I graduated (as did Phill but he elected to get this certificate in the post) so now Frank is the only one in the house without a degree (but he still earns more than all three of us put together :-))
We went to Daylesford the afternoon after my graduation to check out the venue where Matt and Erin would like to have their wedding reception and check out likely spots for the ceremony. We stayed in Julie’s holiday home – very nice indeed. The weather wasn’t very kind but it was a successful weekend, venue and ceremony location all sorted.
We came back to the Gap on the Sunday and Dave, Cath, Peter and Kieran came to stay for a few days. We managed to squeeze in a couple of climbs with Dave while Cath was hoping to catch a few zzzzs but unfortunately Kieran had other ideas.
This weekend just gone Vinnie came to stay with a couple of friends of his (Omar and Andrew) so we got to do another couple of climbs this time at the Sentinel wall near Stapylton. It was very good to catch up with Vinnie, and Dave and Cath too.
Phill and Jane have been in New Zealand for a couple of weeks so I am looking forward to hearing all about their holidays.
So all in all a fairly busy April with more socializing than there has been for quite some time.
