Brag Blog (modern equivalent of the brag book :-)

I just want to take this opportunity to brag about my two sons.
Phill has become a published scientist as lead author of his first journal article, which he tells me more or less summarises his honours year research project:

“Use of click chemistry to define the substrate specificity of Leishmania b-1,2-mannosyltransferases”, ChemBioChem, 2006, 7, 1384-1391.
Authored by van der Peet, P., Gannon, C.T., Walker, I., Dinev, Z., Angelin, M., Tam, S., Ralton, J.E., McConville, M.J., and Williams, S.J.,

The actual article can be found here but unless you have access is not available for download and, frankly, unless you're an organic chemist I suspect that it won't make much sense.

Jane has a new job that she seems to be enjoying much better than her previous one. Frank and I have reluctantly agreed to let Zwartje stay with Phill and Jane as we think she'd be happier there, even though we both miss her, but Jane says we can visit!

Matt is doing very well at Melbourne Water and is about to choose his next placement. He gets to rotate through different departments about 5 or 6 times during his three year graduate program. Two or three of the next round of projects look particularly interesting but I don't know which one he has chosen yet. I think he is planning to get the engineering equivalent of a CPA (CPE??).
Erin is making good progress with her CPA and plans for the wedding in February seem to be moving along nicely.

Frank had a very lucky escape the week before last. He was parked in Exhibition Street loading his briefcase and suit coat into the back seat (behind the driver's seat) when a passing car tried to take the car door off. It rendered the Outback undriveable for about 10 days and wrecked Frank's suit jacket but thankfully Frank managed to flatten himself against the car and so wasn't hurt. The guy he was with suggested he should buy a Tattslotto ticket!

Frank is hoping to move up her to join me at the end of October but we probably won't move into our new place until the 11th or 18th November, depending upon when we settle. We are having repairs made to the investment propoerty in Kororoit Creek Road and so it should go on the market soon, with a possible auction date of around 11th November. Well I think that's about all the news for now, so until next time....
