The end of September

I keep thinking I really must update the blog as we have a collection of neat photos, some on the camera still and some on Frank's laptop - currently with Frank in Sydney. Well I thought I'd make a start and add the photos later.

After our time in the Flinders Ranges we came back to a very busy time work-wise.

On Sunday Frank headed off to a 4 day working week, 2 days in Tasmania and 2 in Melbourne. It was probably the longest time we had spent apart for ages, felt really strange. I spent most of the week trying to catch up on work that had piled up while I was on legal systems training and then on leave. On the Thursday we had a threatened species group walk up the Mt Difficult range above Beehive Falls towards Briggs Bluff. Although we didn't find the particular plant we were looking for we did find another quite rare plant, which I was pleased to see in flower at long last and it was a great walk which I hope to do again one day soon with Frank. What was really nice was that we had some young people with us for a change. I love my threatened species group but they are the first to admit that we need some young blood. I just hope the trend continues. This was followed by a day off and then a weekend spent on patrol.

The last weekend in September was of course the Grand Final weekend. I left Frank waching the Grand Final with Erin while I went and visited Dad. On the Saturday night it was Rich melder's 40th with a Bollywood theme, which was great fun. It was really good to catch up with some of the climbing crew who we hadn't seen for a while. Phill's ex Jenny Chan was kind enough to lend me one of her saris from her time spent in India.
After a bit of tuition on Bollywood moves there was lots of dancing but we left at a reasonable hour as on Sunday we went around to Chandler Street and painted some weatherboards!
