Rainy days and a new house guest
Wouldn't you know it after three days of almost constant rain when we drove Frank into Ararat to catch the 8:15 train back to Melbourne this morning the sun was shining and the sky was cloudless. Perhaps he is responsible for all this rain we have been having - generally at the weekends! Anyway we need the rain and it did force me to do some more work on the thesis, and we did manage to squeeze in a 6km walk, although we got back pretty wet and soggy.
There was a very large sulphur-crested cockatoo making himself at home on the landlord's dining chairs which were still on the veranda, as the Taj Mahal of a shed is still awaiting electricity. I swear he must be planning on moving into it as it's larger than some of the holiday homes around here. Anyway Frank and I relocated the timber chairs into the shed, as there's a good reason why people don't build their homes from Western Red Cedar anymore and colorbond steel is becoming such a popular building material! The only other wildlife of note was a five legged huntsman spider who has taken up residence in the lounge. He's pretty nimble all things considered.
Best get back to work now :-)
