Warren Gorge

One of the highlights of the trip (for me at least but I'm sure Frank was pretty pleased too) was spotting six Yellow-footed Rock Wallabies as we were leaving Warren Gorge where we had stopped for lunch. It was awesome. The first two we spotted were right next to the track but they soon moved off when we stopped. We stayed there and watched them for around an hour. I was fascinated, they were so very agile as was demonstrated each time what must have been the dominant male approached and the younger males ducked for cover. I was also amazed to see them twitch their really long tails rather like a cat does. It was wonderful :-)

You'll have to click on the image below to get it large enough to see them though. If you look closely you can see the one in the middle's tail draping down over the side of the rock. One of the females also had a joey in her pouch which was good to see.
