Busy Weekends
Matt & Erin, Jamie & Catherine, Tim & Kim and Davie came to stay the weekend. It was lovely to see everyone especially Kim who we hadn't seen for absolutely ages, pregnancy suits her :-) Sal and Mick and Kim and Emily also came around for dinner on the Saturday night, Kim said it felt like Christmas. It did have that kind of feel to it, unfortunately Mick and Sal and Kim and Emily got the kiddies table - the card table we used to extend the already extended dining table. It was lucky in a way that the landlord hadn't fininshed his shed as we borrowed six of his dining chairs that were still being stored on the veranda.
I had to work the weekend, it was my first weekend of being on patrol - checking campsites, picking up litter and cleaning loos, the slightly less glamorous side of the job, but what surroundings to be claening toilets in! Everyone else went climbing on the Saturday and on the Sunday Jamie and Catherine came out with me. My "rounds" included MacKenzie Falls, Baroka Lookout, Reeds Lookout, the Balconies and Silverband Falls so they got to see some of the more popular bits of the park.
The Kookaburra I had been trying to look after during the week flew the coop (well the enclosure outside the bathroom) on Frdiay so I guess Graham was right - his wing wasn't broken just strained.
Monday I went out with Matt and Erin and as we were walking back to the car a branch of Hedge Wattle sprang up and flicked me right in the eye, so now I'm off work for a few days as it turned out it made a substantial graze on my cornea. Hopefully I'll get the all clear on Friday so I can go back to work on Tuessday after uni on Monday.
