Tuesday - Yellow Waters, Jabiru and Ubirr

As I said the early morning cruise was definitely worth getting up for and Frank and I fluked the front seat on the third or fourth boat and so had a really good view of all the bird life
and the estuarine crocodiles as the sun came up. We saw Jabirus, cranes (of various kinds) White-bellied sea eagles etc, (but no brolgas) water buffalo and feral pigs - boy do they make a mess.
After that we went back and packed up to move to Jabiru so that we could go look at the tock art at Ubirr and watch the sunset from the top of the rock.
We decided against staying at Merl because we had been warned that the mosquitoes up there were quite ferocious. Just as well as I think that there is very little of my body not currently sporting a mossie or midge bite, often obtained through both clothing and insecticide.
